It is my pleasure to know that my On the Island for High Voice and Piano will receive its Taiwan premiere on July 7 at National Recital Hall (Taipei, Taiwan). This works includes 10 songs based on Chen Li’s poem “On the Island” from The Cat at the Mirror. It will be performed by Soprano Hsin-Ying Chen and pianist Chun-Hua Weng in their recital. I am planning to go back to Taiwan for attending this concert as well.

This song cycle was composed for my graduation recital at the Eastman School of Music. The recording of the world premiere performance can be listened in poet Chen Li’s website, and the link is below –

很高興知道我的為高音人聲與鋼琴的《在島上》會在7月7日晚上7點30分，在台北國家演奏廳演出，這次的演出也會是這個曲子的台灣首演。這個聯篇歌曲集包括了10首歌，出自詩人陳黎的同名詩作〈在島上〉選自詩集《貓對鏡》。女高音陳心瑩老師和鋼琴家翁重華老師會在他們的獨唱會中演出這個作品，這次我也很開心能夠有機會回去台灣出席這場音樂會。

這個作品是為了我在美國伊士曼音樂院的畢業音樂會上演出所譜寫的，首演的錄音可以在詩人陳黎的網站上聽到，連結如下：
